Premise:  A Federal Express postal worker gets stranded on a deserted island for four years.
(note: Filming began for this film back in January 1999 and wrapped in May 2000.  The reason for the long shoot?  The second half of the shoot required Tom Hanks to lose about 15 kilograms and grow a thick beard.  So as you can understand, this took a long time. - Ed)
